A Brief History of My Life
The Early Days
I was born in Syria, Aleppo at 10th of February 1980. After I became one year old, my dad took the decision of moving to Lebanon, Beirut and so it was. In spite of the civil war which was slowly destroying one of the beautiful cities in the world, we moved to Beirut, the city that I adored.
From time to time, we had to hide in our building underground shelter and suffer a lot of fear from the roaring missiles. Thanks God, Evil didn't affect everything, our neighbors were excellent neighbors, all members of our district were living as one big family; everyone used to share his food with others without thinking twice; whenever shooting used to stop, we played endlessly with a strong voice defying the sound of bombs and tanks.
During the various battles, we were facing the bitter taste of war instead of drinking from the spring of education that every child should gain; I remember that one year, we didn't go except 3 months to our school and had to compensate in summer.
After Sunshine and End of War
After the war ended, I continued primary education in my near-home school "Adventist Secondary School" during which I met a lot of loving friends and teachers who suffered from the evil war like me and my family. In 1992, I got my first PC and started
discovering the world of programming using the DOS-based QBasic IDE. During 1994, I met my first true love and that was science, I suddenly realized that I have a great affectation to everything related to science and specially physics. The last 3 school years were very exciting and helped a lot in shaping my future.
Summer 1997 marked a new epoch in my life and that was my graduation from school;
at that time, I had to take one of the biggest decisions characterized in choosing my career. The occupation that I adored at that time was teaching physics. My insistence on this decision pushed many friends and family members to advise me to Engineering instead of teaching and after a lot of warm discussions, I decided to join the Lebanese University, Faculty of Engineering.
At the university, I made a good deal of nice and smart friends. In spite of the huge amount of studying that was required in our faculty, we enjoyed every moment and held hands with hands until we gained our Computer and Communications Engineering diploma in summer 2002.
My Career
Another huge step for me was finding a job; it wasn't an easy task at the beginning but eventually and after about 1 month of searching, I found a good job as a junior developer in a pleasant publishing house named Chatila Publishing House located in Beirut. The futuristic IT vision of my manager helped me a lot in gaining experience within all fields of IT ranging from programming to system administration. At that place, I also met special friends that really changed my life and how I viewed it.
After about 2 years of working in the Publishing House, in summer 2004, I decided to specialize in development and found a pleasant developer position in one of the most respectful Lebanese software houses, Netways. There, I gained a lot of programming experience and got in touch with many professional programmers. In addition, my creativity flourished there while working with challenging projects.
After about 1 year of working in netways between Dubai and Lebanon and because of the deteriorating political situation in Lebanon, I took the decision of moving to the Gulf and so I moved to Dubai in the direction of working for a company that will be the second Telecom operator in UAE. In May 2005, I joined the Telecom business unit of TECOM and started a new era of my professional career as a Web, Database and Email specialist. My new job was an appealing mixture of system administration and software development. The most exciting thing there was the diversity of nationalities which greatly widened my vision on the world. The first days were somehow weird
in which I felt as if I am living in a Men In Black movie but finally I got used to the situation and I built a lot of good international relationships with special friends.
In January 2006, we were moved to the new Telecom operator, du, and I started my job as an Intelligent Network Engineer working day and night for launching our prepaid services. Finally, after 1 year, we launched our services and du was born with a bunch of cutting-edge Technologies. Our mission didn't end since everyday we are preparing new services to be continuously launched.
